.सुनिल क्षेत्री (जन्म ३ अगस्ट १९८४) एक भारतीय पेशेवर फुटबलर हुन् जसले फरवार्डको रूपमी खेल्छन् रे इन्डियन सुपर लिग क्लब बेंगलुरु रे भारत राष्ट्रिय टोली दुवैको कप्तान गर्छन्। उहाँ आफ्नो लिङ्क-अप खेल, गोल स्कोर गर्ने क्षमता रे नेतृत्वको लागि परिचित हुनुहुन्छ।[][] उनी क्रिस्टियानो रोनाल्डो र लियोनेल मेस्सीलाई पछि पार्दै सक्रिय खेलाडीहरू (समग्रमा चौथो) मा तेस्रो-सर्वाधिक अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय गोलकर्ता हुन्, [][] र भारत राष्ट्रिय टोलीका सबैभन्दा धेरै क्याप गरिएका खेलाडी र सबै समयका शीर्ष गोलकर्ता पनि हुन्। देशको लागि उनको योगदानको लागि उनलाई व्यापक रूपमा सबै समयका महान भारतीय र दक्षिण एशियाली फुटबलरहरू मध्ये एक मानिन्छ।[][][]

क्षेत्रीले 2002 मा मोहन बगानमा आफ्नो व्यावसायिक करियर सुरु गरे,[१०][११] JCT मा गए जहाँ उनले 48 खेलहरूमा 21 गोल गरे।[१२] सुनिल दिल्लीमा भएको सन्तोष ट्रफीको ५९ औं संस्करणमा दिल्लीको टोलीमा थिए। उनले त्यस प्रतियोगितामा गुजरातविरुद्ध ह्याट्रिक सहित ६ गोल गरेका थिए। दिल्ली क्वार्टरफाइनलमा केरलासँग पराजित भएको थियो र उसले त्यो खेलमा पनि गोल गर्यो।[१३] उनले 2010 मा मेजर लिग सकर पक्ष कन्सास सिटी विजार्ड्सका लागि हस्ताक्षर गरे, विदेश जाने नोटको उपमहाद्वीपबाट तेस्रो खेलाडी बने।[१४] उनी भारतको आई-लीगमा फर्किए जहाँ उनले विदेश जानु अघि चिराग युनाइटेड र मोहन बागानका लागि खेले, प्राइमिरा लिगाको स्पोर्टिङ सीपीमा, जहाँ उनले क्लबको रिजर्भ पक्षबाट खेले।[१५]

सुनिल क्षत्रीको जन्म ३ अगस्ट १९८४ मा एक क्षत्रिय परिवारमा भएको थियो, के.बी. क्षेत्री, भारतीय सेनाको कोर्प्स अफ इलेक्ट्रोनिक्स एण्ड मेकानिकल इन्जिनियर्सका अधिकृत ऊ थिय।[१६][][१७][१८] उनका बुबाले भारतीय सेनाको फुटबल टोलीबाट फुटबल खेल्नुभयो भने उनकी आमा र जुम्ल्याहा बहिनीले नेपाली महिला राष्ट्रिय टोलीबाट खेल्नुभयो।[१९] उनले आफ्नो बाल्यकालको अधिकांश समय दार्जिलिङमा बिताए । दार्जिलिङको बेथानी स्कुलका विद्यार्थी हुँदा क्षेत्रीले आफ्नो बाल्यकाल पशुपति फाटकमा बिताएका थिए।[२०] उनले सानैदेखि विभिन्न प्रतियोगितामा भाग लिएर फुटबल खेल्न थालेका थिए ।[२१] क्षेत्रीले अंग्रेजी, हिन्दी, नेपाली, बंगाली र कन्नड गरी पाँच भाषाहरू धाराप्रवाह बोल्छन्। उनी केही तेलुगु, मराठी र कोंकणी पनि बुझ्न सक्छन्।[२२]

नयाँ दिल्लीमा 2017 फिफा यू-17 विश्वकपको सुरुमा भारतका प्रधानमन्त्री नरेन्द्र मोदीले क्षेत्रीलाई सम्मान गर्दै।

4 डिसेम्बर 2017 मा, क्षेत्रीले आफ्नो लामो समयदेखि प्रेमिका सोनम भट्टाचार्यसँग विवाह गरे जो पूर्व भारतीय अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय र मोहन बागान खेलाडी सुब्रत भट्टाचार्यकी छोरी हुन्।[२३][२४] सन् २०१८ मा उनको ३४ औं जन्मदिनमा सुनिल क्षेत्रीलाई एएफसीले ‘एसियन आइकन’ घोषित गरेको थियो।[२५] उनले विश्व खेलकुद कम्पनी पुमासँग २०२० बाट ३ वर्षको सम्झौतामा हस्ताक्षर गरे।[२६]
