गंगा प्रसाद प्रधान

गंगा प्रसाद प्रधान को जन्म जुलाई ४, १८५१ मी काठमाडौंमी भएको थियो रे उनी पहिलो नेपाली क्रिश्चियन पास्टर, नेपाली बाइबलका मुख्य अनुवादक, अंग्रेजी-नेपाली शब्दकोशका सह-लेखक रे बालबालिकाका पाठ्यपुस्तकका लेखक थिए।^[१]

उहाँ एक धनी नेवारी परिवारमी जन्मनुभएको थियो रे दार्जिलिङमी स्कटिश मिसनरीहरूले सिकाउनुभएको थियो। शिक्षा मुट्ठीभरलाई मात्रै भएकोले जनताका लागि शैक्षिक संस्था खोल्ने लक्ष्य लिएर उनी काठमाडौं फर्किए । सन् १९१४ मी राणा सरकारले प्रवचनका लागि स्थायी रूपमी भारत निर्वासनमी परेका थिए ।^[२]

उनी सन् १९०१ देखि १९३२ मी आफ्नो मृत्युसम्म गोर्खे खबर कागत नामक मासिक पत्रिकाका सम्पादक पनि थिए।^[३]^[४]
